The podcast desk is the main event. It isn’t the whole story. The space is set up for full content creation, with backdrops, lighting and a camera you can use or ignore.

Four broadcast mics on the RØDECaster desk, the Sony FX30 in 4K, and one button. Press record, talk, press stop. One finished file uploads itself to your dashboard before you’re home.

Photography: Paper backdrops and studio lighting, set before you arrive. Bring your camera or your phone.
TikTok & YouTube: Vertical or landscape, lit and framed. Talking head, tutorials, the long one you keep putting off.
TikTok Shop: Clean light, clean backdrop, product in hand. A week of posts in one session.
Brand content: Campaign shoots, interviews, founder pieces. A room your clients can walk into.
Your own kit: Use everything, something, or nothing of ours. The room and the light are yours either way.

Join

Pick the membership, pay at Stripe, book your free one-hour induction with us in the room. Ten studio hours land in your account every month from then on.

Book & turn up

Pick a day and a start time from your dashboard, in 2-hour slots, 6am to 10pm, any day. Tell us what you are making and the room is set for it. Your door code comes by email or WhatsApp.

The podcast desk runs itself and the finished file lands on your dashboard. For everything else the backdrops and lights are up, the camera is framed, and the room is yours.

How much does it cost to hire a podcast or content studio in Leeds?

Membership is £350 a month plus VAT, with a 3-month minimum. It gives you 10 studio hours every month and access to the high-end podcast equipment and the content space: the RØDECaster desk and four broadcast mics, the Sony FX30, the backdrops and the lighting. Nothing is hired separately and nothing is added on.

What can I make here?

Podcasts, photography, TikTok and YouTube videos, TikTok Shop product content, brand campaigns, interviews, talking-head pieces. The room has the podcast desk on one side and backdrops, lighting and a professional camera for everything else.

Do I have to use your equipment?

No. Members can use all of it, some of it, or none of it. Bring your own camera, phone rig or lights if that is how you work. The room, the backdrops and the lighting are yours either way.

Do I need an engineer or any setup?

No. The podcast desk runs itself: walk in, sit down, press record. Backdrops and lighting are set before you arrive. There is nobody to pay to drive it.

How many people can I record with?

Four mic'd seats, host plus three guests, each on a dedicated Shure MV7+ broadcast microphone.

Do you record video as well as audio?

Yes. For podcasts the Sony FX30 4K HDR camera is mixed live with your audio through the RØDECaster Video, so the session is captured as video and audio together in one clean file.

How do I get my files?

Podcast recordings upload themselves. Press stop and the finished file, video and audio already mixed, lands on your dashboard before you get home, where it stays for fourteen days with reminders before it goes. Anything you shoot on your own kit stays on your own kit.

What's the induction?

Every new member's first visit is a free one-hour induction in the room with us. We show you the desk, the camera and the space, and sign you off on the spot. It does not come off your monthly hours.

Where is the studio?

Percy Street, Armley, Leeds LS12 1EL, about two miles west of the city centre. There is a map on the Find the studio page. Your door code and arrival instructions come with your booking.

Can I book a full day?

Full days are subject to availability. Email studio@workshop1.space with the date you have in mind and we will come back to you. Members book 6am to 10pm, any day, in 2-hour slots, from their monthly hours.
