1. About WorkshopOne

WorkshopOne ("we", "us", "our") provides bookable podcast and audio recording studio space, together with the equipment, software and support listed for each room. In these terms "you" means the individual or organisation holding an account, a membership, or a confirmed booking.

These terms form a contract between you and WorkshopOne. We may update them from time to time; the version published on this page at the moment you make a booking is the version that applies to that booking.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate account details and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that takes place under your account. You must be at least 18 years old to hold an account and make bookings. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

3. Bookings

A booking is confirmed once you have selected an available slot, accepted these terms and completed the relevant payment or used membership hours. The booked time includes your set-up and pack-down, please arrive promptly, as sessions cannot be extended into another booking.

You agree to use the studio only for the dates and times confirmed, and to leave the room in the condition you found it. Repeated late arrivals or overruns that affect other clients may result in restrictions on future bookings.

4. Membership & pricing

Our standard plans are as follows. All prices are in pounds sterling (GBP) and are quoted exclusive of VAT; VAT at the prevailing rate is added at checkout.

  • Monthly membership: £350 per month plus VAT. Includes 10 hours of studio time per calendar month, bookable between 6am and 10pm any day, plus meeting rooms subject to availability. Unused hours do not roll over and expire at the end of the month in which they are issued. Membership renews automatically each month until cancelled.
  • Studio Pass: £450 plus VAT. A one-off full 8-hour studio day, available 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, for clients who need a full day without a membership.
  • Induction: required, no charge. Every new member must complete a 2-hour studio induction before booking sessions. The induction is free and separate from your monthly hours.

Additional hours beyond your monthly allowance may be booked at our prevailing hourly rate, shown at the point of booking. We may change our prices on reasonable notice; price changes will not affect bookings already confirmed.

5. Cancellations & changes

Plans change. We ask only that you give us fair notice so the slot can be offered to someone else:

  • Cancellations or reschedules made 48 hours or more before the session incur no charge; membership hours are returned to your monthly balance.
  • Cancellations made within 48 hours of the session, or non-attendance ("no-shows"), are charged in full and any membership hours used are not returned.
  • Membership may be cancelled at any time and will end at the close of the current billing month. We do not offer pro-rata refunds for partial months or for unused hours.

In the rare event that we must cancel your session (for example due to equipment failure), we will offer you the next available slot or a full refund of any amount paid for that session.

6. Recordings & your media

You own the creative content you record. Your session is written directly to removable SD media in the studio equipment, which you take with you at the end of your booking. We do not upload, host, store, back up or transfer your recordings, and we keep no copy of them.

Because we hold no copy, you are solely responsible for removing your media and backing it up. Studio cards left behind are wiped before the next session so that no member's work is exposed to another. If you leave a card in the equipment, contact us the same day and we will do our best to set it aside, but we cannot guarantee recovery.

7. Acceptable use

The studio and its equipment are provided for lawful creative work. You agree not to use the space to produce unlawful, defamatory, or infringing material, and not to misuse, remove or damage equipment. Smoking, vaping and illegal substances are not permitted on the premises. You are liable for any loss or damage to the studio or equipment caused by you or your guests beyond fair wear and tear.

8. Liability

We provide the studio with reasonable care and skill. To the fullest extent permitted by law, WorkshopOne is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss of data or recordings. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under the law of England and Wales. Our total liability arising from any booking will not exceed the amount you paid for that booking.

9. Data & privacy

We collect only the personal data needed to operate your account, take payment and manage your bookings, typically your name, contact details and billing information. We process this data lawfully under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, retain it no longer than necessary, and never sell it. You have the right to access, correct or request deletion of your data. We hold no recordings on your behalf, see section 6.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
